Come by and see the BEST place for your dog when he is not at home!Call to book your dog's temperament assessment so he can attend our daycare. Daycare Hours are Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Your dog must be healthy and have all vaccinations (including Distemper, Parvovirus, Rabies and Bordatella) up to date with written proof from a veterinarian. Owners will need to certify that their dogs are in good health and have not been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days. All dogs must not have harmed or shown any aggressive or threatening behavior towards any person or any other dogs and must not be protective of toys, space, food or people. Puppies must have 3 sets of shots to participate. All dogs over 6 months of age MUST be spayed or neutered. All dogs must pass a temperament assessment prior to being admitted to Silver Paws. This assessment includes an interview with both dog and owner and may include further assessment of the dog without the owner present for approximately three hours. If it is deemed that the dog is not a suitable candidate for daycare, you will be informed as soon as possible. Some dogs are not able to cope with the freedom and group play in daycare. It is the policy of Silver Paws to do everything possible to preserve the health and well-being of all dogs entrusted to our care. We use viral and bacterial fighting agents to clean the property. However, as is the case with humans, dogs can still get and spread viruses/illnesses to each other. Dogs can get sick being exposed to any social setting with other animals. There are some sicknesses and infections that are beyond our control. As a responsible dog owner, it is understood that your dog has been treated for any flea, tick or other parasitic infection on a regular basis. Play among dogs can be rough; your dog could be injured without being in a fight. Dogs frequently nip and mount each other as part of normal behavior. Usually this does not result in injury but there is a risk that it could. Some dogs could have sore paws or develop blisters the first or second time they attend daycare. This is normal. Give your dog a few days to heal and he or she can return to Silver Paws. The general health and condition of the dogs are continually monitored, however, it is possible for an injury to go unnoticed if the location is somehow concealed (for example, long hair, dark hair or under a leg) or if the injury occurs in such a fashion as to not indicate that an injury occurred (for example, during play with the dog showing no sign that it is in pain). In the event of an injury, you will be contacted immediately and informed of the severity of the injury. If deemed necessary by Silver Paws staff that the injury requires medical attention, and you are unavailable, the dog will be taken to the nearest available veterinary clinic and you will be responsible for the expenses to treat the injury. Silver Paws reserves the right to expel any dog for aggressive behaviour toward other dogs or humans at any time. Our daycare will have an attendance limit of 20 dogs per day. This allows the dogs to have room to run and chase balls or other toys without running into each other. The dogs are under constant supervision by a Certified Dog Trainer and qualified staff. Your dog is as important to us as our own dogs! (They are here too!)
