The Herding Dogs Group

This breed group is very active. The herding dogs have a high prey or chase drive and use herding behaviors when excited. They also have to keep their minds busy and require daily exercise. Herding breeds are usually easy to train and they have a desire to please.

The herders are: Australian Cattle Dog, Australian Shepherd, Bearded Collie, Beauceron, Belgian, (Malinois, Sheepdog, Tervuren), Border Collie, Bouviers des Flandres, Briard, Canaan Dog, Collie, (Rough, Smooth), German Shepherd Dog, Old English Sheepdog, Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Puli, Shetland Sheepdog, Welsh Corgi, (Cardigan, Pembroke).
